Lesson Information

  1. Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks offers the following options for people with a disability who are 6 years of age and older:

    • Learn to ski lessons for sit-ski, 3-track, 4-track, sight and hearing impaired and intellectual disabilities.
    • School program to assist students with a disability to participate in school sponsored programs.
    These services are offered free of charge to residents of Kamloops and its surrounding area and generally to guests and clients from the province of British Columbia.
  1. The following programs are available to all local residents and guests from out of town at no charge:

    • Ski Buddy program to accompany and/or assist students with "guided mileage" (practice) for their skiing.
    • A Companion program to accompany guests with a disability who do not desire/require a formal lesson.

Please note that due to the limited number of volunteer instructors, assistants and equipment, bookings should be made as far in advance as possible.

Mandatory Membership

All guests are required to purchase a membership in the Disabled Skiers Association of BC (DSABC). Membership may be purchased online here: DSABC, and can be paid by cheque or credit card. The membership is valid for the entire winter. Your membership provides you with l iability insurance coverage during the duration of your adaptive lesson. Please note that this membership does not include medical coverage. Membership must be purchased prior to the lesson, as you will be asked for your membership number when registering for the Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks Program.
